Robert Salvin was born in Kippax in Yorkshire in 1968. After dropping out of university, he travelled to Australia, and while studying theatre there in the early 1990s, he began writing plays. After a brief and financially-unrewarding acting career, two of his plays, Privates, and Weary Sun, Golden Set, were produced in Sydney.
Since returning to the UK, he has had a number of plays produced including Rhapsody In Red, a translation of Molière's The Hypochondriac, andThe Spy Who Came Down With a Cold.
Robert returned to studying part-time through the Open University, and graduated in English Literature in 2015. He now lives in Edinburgh with his wife, and has three children.
catchymonkey is his first novel.
